Yes the thermostat can be renamed from the Resideo app:

1. Chose your thermostat in the Resideo app.
2. Tap on the cogwheel symbol, in the upper right corner of the screen.
3. Go to "Thermostat Configuration" under Thermostat Settings.
4. Type in the new name of the Thermostat in the text field.
5. Press the back arrow to save the changes.
